The records in this series comprise correspondence and financial records pertaining to China mission work of the Norwegian Lutheran Church in America (NLCA) from 1922-1953, with the bulk dating from 1922-1926. It is primarily typewritten business correspondence, with some other records pertaining to the financing of the construction of the Lutheran Missions Home and Agency (LMHA), an inter-mission facility created to house missionaries and the headquarters for the Lutheran United Mission, the China mission of the NLCA. It pertains primarily to three subjects: the securing of financing for construction of the LMHA; the transfer of a title to a person who purchased property in Hankow, China; and a resolution regarding the China mission and the relationship of the mission to the church-at-large. Unfortunately, there are no copies of this resolution in this series. Files are arranged alphabetically by subject.
